If COVID-19 hadn’t happened, tomorrow I would be flying out to Orlando, FL to assist with running Extra Life United, a big tournament with a prize pool of $150,000 that you can win for your Children’s Miracle Network hospital.
Unfortunately, the event was cancelled. While I could be participating in the digital version of ELU instead, I’ve also learned that my hospital, Children’s Health, has lost multiple fundraising opportunities, especially their Red Balloon Run & Ride, which is one of their biggest fundraising events of the year.
As a result, I’ve decided that I’ll be doing my own thing to raise money for my own hospital and bring about some positivity in a period of anxiety and sadness as we all deal with quarantine and illness from this pandemic. I will be running 5 12-hour days back to back, all with a different batch of games to raise money and awareness for my chosen hospital.
